In the ruins, they find the manuscript that forms the book. The author of this manuscript had lived in the house with his sister and his dog, Pepper. The house is besieged by attacks from horrible “Swine-Things,” but the true mysteries lie in the house itself and the inexplicable and transcendent experiences the manuscript’s author undergoes within it, being incorporeally transported across aeons to the far future and into the infinite.
