Gallows Whisper is dedicated to honoring the tradition of horror and weird fiction, while bringing it in new and exciting directions. We seek to promote work that approaches strange and macabre storytelling in fresh new ways. Sincerity in writing is paramount to us, and we seek to work with authors who have developed strong, distinct voices that convey their artistic individuality.

Our mission is to build upon the tradition of Poe and Lovecraft, Barker and Ligotti, but not to imitate those masters. Gallows Whisper books are smart and subversive—rebel stories with one foot in the past and the other in tomorrow.

We seek stories that delve into under explored concepts, new conceptions of the monstrous, deconstructions of weary tropes, and thoughtful writing that sticks with the reader long after they put down the book.
